Vanities and Touch-free Fixtures for Accessibility!

When designing an ADA-compliant bathroom, selecting the right vanity and faucet requires balancing strict accessibility guidelines with functional and appealing design.

We have all the right elements, including wall-hung furniture, open bottom consoles, electronic faucets, grab bars, and trap covers, to make your project a success. If the standard solutions we offer fall short of your vision, we are thrilled to work on customized options, both sizes and colors!

For the vanity, you must ensure a forward approach is possible, which means choosing a wall-hung or open-bottom console model that provides a clear knee clearance of at least 27 inches high, 30 inches wide, and 11 to 25 inches deep so a wheelchair user can roll completely underneath. The rim of the vanity or sink must sit no higher than 34 inches above the finished floor, and any exposed plumbing underneath must be insulated or configured to protect users from burns or sharp edges.

Touch-Free Solutions for ADA-Compliant Washrooms

When it comes to the faucet, operation is key: it must be usable with one hand and require no more than 5 pounds of force to activate, completely eliminating the use of tight grasping, pinching, or twisting of the wrist. Lever-operated, push-type, or motion-activated (electronic sensor) faucets are the ideal choices here. Additionally, if the faucet is hand-operated, ensure the controls are well within reach—typically no more than 44 inches from the floor if the counter depth is less than 20 inches, or 48 inches maximum if the depth is shallower.
